The May Tips & Techniques meeting will be held at the Evergreen Wild Bird Store - 32156 Castle Ct. ( the strip mall directly west of the Bergen Park Fire Station). The owners of the store, John & Diane Sears have kindly offered to host our meeting. They will give us tips on how to attract wild birds to our yards and create wild bird habitats.
PRESENTER: CHARLES DIRKS
The Tips and Techniques meeting this month will cover basic photography concepts concentrating on exposure. We will look at various camera settings to allow the camera to properly expose an image while maintaining some control (shutter speed, f-stop or ISO...) over the camera. The session
will be targeted towards DSLR owners, but point-and-shoot controls will be covered as well. We will also have an opportunity to hear a few words from a freelance photographer for the Associated Press, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, etc.
Tips and Techniques for April will feature experimenting with digital conversions to black and white. We’ll explore various ways of creating black and white images from original color digital images using Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. Club members may e-mail a color image (and the black and white version, if desired) that they would like to see converted during the session to me ahead of time at siriusenergy@msn.com.Tips & Techniques: Digital Conversion to Black and White
Presenters will include several club members with black and white conversion experience.

We live in a land of wildlife photography wonders. Our Tips and Techniques program is pertinent to anyone who ventures out to encounter wildlife with the idea of adding to our photo collections. We can inadvertently harm some creatures while others can harm us.
Be sure to attend to learn the ethical and responsible ways to be successful and safe with a camera in our wild lands!
